Slurry booster stations are intermediate pumping units installed along long-haul slurry pipelines to maintain pressure when a single station cannot deliver the full lift or distance.
Configuration. Skid-mounted with hard-iron or rubber-lined slurry pump (dictated by particle size, hardness, and pH), variable-frequency drive for capacity modulation, isolation valves and bypass loops, suction and discharge surge tanks, instrumentation for flow / pressure / temperature, and remote monitoring tied into the mine’s SCADA system.
Common duty. Mining tailings transfer, copper / nickel / iron-ore concentrate pumping, oil-sands tailings, and heavy-industry process slurry. Distance and elevation profiles dictate booster spacing - typically every 1.5-3 km for high-density slurry.
